    Ramaphosa mentioned in a televised handle the explanations the US gave for its “non-participation” have been knowledgeable by “baseless and false allegations that South Africa is perpetrating genocide in opposition to Afrikaners and the confiscation of land from white individuals”.

    “That is blatant misinformation about our nation,” the president mentioned on the SABC broadcast. 

    “As a rustic, we’re conscious that the stance taken by the US administration has been influenced by a sustained marketing campaign of disinformation by teams and people inside our nation, within the US and elsewhere.

    “These people who find themselves spreading disinformation are endangering and undermining South Africa’s nationwide pursuits, destroying South African jobs and weakening our nation’s relations with certainly one of our most necessary companions.”

    Ramaphosa nonetheless mentioned South Africa was keen “to proceed to interact in dialogue with the USA authorities, and to take action with respect and with dignity as equal sovereign nations”.
