Re: “Trump ends annual report on U.S. hunger amid rising food insecurity” (Sept. 21, Nation):

Are we coming to an info darkish gap?

I’ve all the time taken as a right the provision of statistical details about financial inflation or meals insecurity. It appeared as pure as respiration air. But the Bureau of Labor Statistics is delaying its annual report on client expenditures — a report for understanding inflation. And the U.S. Division of Agriculture is ending its annual report on meals insecurity.

Lack of this crucial info will go away U.S. residents uninformed about crucial points akin to client confidence and meals insecurity, and President Donald Trump and Republicans won’t be held accountable for the devastating outcomes of their financial insurance policies.

How can we as a nation act responsibly once we are saved at the hours of darkness?

    Jan Thomas, Seattle
