    The US State Division designated him as a “terrorist” and sanctioned him in 2016.

    The US Treasury provided a US$5 million reward for data on him, including that he was often known as Abu Ali Tabatabai.

    The US Treasury described Tabatabai as a key Hezbollah army chief “who has commanded the group’s particular forces in each Syria and Yemen”.
