    IN THE NEWS: King County’s Division of Neighborhood and Human Companies has seen its funding of grants for varied service suppliers balloon from $22 million to $1.5 billion — sure, billion — in simply 4 years. Now, a county auditor’s report has revealed that oversight of the contractors who receive all that money is seriously lacking and found improper payments, together with potential fraud, in a number of cases.
