Because the NASCAR Cup Collection prepares to race on the streets of Chicago for the third time on July 6, the way forward for a road race within the Windy Metropolis is up within the air.

2025 is the ultimate 12 months of a three-year deal that was signed by NASCAR and the town to deliver NASCAR’s first road race to probably the most populous metropolis in Illinois, however road racing seems to be a self-discipline of racing that NASCAR wish to see stay on the schedule.

Whereas Gilliland would not see Los Angeles as a viable choice, one other metropolis throughout the nation is one he seems to be fixated on.

“I believe New York Metropolis can be sick,” Gilliland stated. “Clearly, there’s the views, (and) the texture of that metropolis is huge. That might be my decide.”

Gilliland’s thought is one which NASCAR has reportedly thought of. NASCAR has proven its capability to draw followers within the state of New York, because the annual race weekend at Watkins Glen – a facility that has been a staple of highway course racing throughout many various disciplines of motorsport – routinely attracts massive crowds.
