The outfit had sparked backlash on-line, with some criticising the look as “disrespectful” and “disappointing” to have a Black activist’s face depicted on her crotch as per a number of Instagram feedback below her Met Gala publish.

Nonetheless, a consultant for artist Henry Taylor, who collaborated on Lisa’s look with singer-designer Pharrell Williams, has clarified on leisure information website Vulture after the Met Gala that not one of the people illustrated on Lisa’s look have been civil rights figures.

“The faces seen on this look, in addition to on earlier LV clothes that includes Taylor’s paintings, are all drawn from his private life – relations, mates, and neighbours,” the consultant mentioned.
