    WASHINGTON: A hazardous supplies incident put the Pentagon on lockdown on Thursday (Jun 11) as hearth officers investigated the air high quality problem, defence and hearth officers stated.

    “The Pentagon has subtle programs to make sure the security of the constructing and its occupants. These programs have detected an air high quality problem necessitating precautionary measures till we decide its significance,” Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell stated in an electronic mail.

    “The Division is executing normal safety protocols, together with a shelter-in-place order for the affected space. Response groups are in place and able to assist constructing occupants.”

    The constructing was beneath lockdown, with individuals evacuated from a number of flooring, CNN reported, citing unidentified sources. 

    Flooring two by 5 in corridors 4 by seven have been locked down, CNN stated, citing two sources.

    One other supply reported seeing emergency responders have been carrying full gasoline masks and chemical safety fits, CNN stated.

    A message despatched by the Pentagon’s safety workforce stated extra testing was wanted to find out the supply of the issue, in keeping with CNN.

    The five-sided Pentagon constructing, hit in the course of the Sep 11, 2001, al Qaeda assaults, is likely one of the world’s largest workplace buildings.
