    The American spirit is the heartbeat of our greatness. You’ll see it within the tenacity of farmworkers and the distinctive drive of devoted craftsmen and commerce employees. You’ll witness its the Aristocracy within the courageous groups of first responders nationwide and the empathy and help of small-town communities that gasoline the flame of American business.

    And you may guess it’ll be in full drive this weekend. Thousands and thousands of People will share recollections with household and pals, firing up grills and watching fireworks grace the night sky within the title of America’s 250th.

    This nation of democratic prowess and compassionate advantage has not simply survived 250 years. It continues to point out immense potential, and its success is pushed by the outstanding residents residing right here.

    I grew up in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. It was there that I witnessed our American spirit firsthand. My neighbors had been electricians, nurses, academics, HVAC technicians and medical doctors, all working to make sure a greater future for not simply themselves however their group.

    My immigrant mother and father got here right here believing in America, a nation brimming with confidence. Our nation was on the transfer, bursting with power, preeminent in science and business. Once I went to public faculty, I had baseball coaches who believed in me although I couldn’t hit. I had academics who informed me that I might obtain something I wished in America.

    I believed them.

    This nation, this spirit, has the ability to imbue its residents with a need for greatness.

    Right now, America faces challenges, however I’ve met with tons of of People on my journeys throughout the nation, and every individual I’ve talked to has maintained that spirit and drive to do higher. Each American desires their nation to thrive.

    However the spirit can solely take us thus far. It wants a wave to experience on.

    It’s time to stay up for the subsequent 250 years. We should inject the bedrock of America with this nice spirit that has carried us excessive above the established order for one quarter of a millennium. We should put together America for the groundbreaking progress that generations upon generations will convey to her. We should strengthen our democracy right into a cohesive and multiracial one, the place each American has dignity, independence and safety.

    Financial renewal ought to be our new nationwide goal. We want a twenty first century Marshall Plan for middle-class and working-class People, mobilizing enterprise, employees, universities and authorities to rebuild struggling communities and shut our financial divide.
