I grew up in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. It was there that I witnessed our American spirit firsthand. My neighbors had been electricians, nurses, academics, HVAC technicians and medical doctors, all working to make sure a greater future for not simply themselves however their group.

My immigrant mother and father got here right here believing in America, a nation brimming with confidence. Our nation was on the transfer, bursting with power, preeminent in science and business. Once I went to public faculty, I had baseball coaches who believed in me although I couldn’t hit. I had academics who informed me that I might obtain something I wished in America.

    I believed them.

This nation, this spirit, has the ability to imbue its residents with a need for greatness.

Right now, America faces challenges, however I’ve met with tons of of People on my journeys throughout the nation, and every individual I’ve talked to has maintained that spirit and drive to do higher. Each American desires their nation to thrive.

Financial renewal ought to be our new nationwide goal. We want a twenty first century Marshall Plan for middle-class and working-class People, mobilizing enterprise, employees, universities and authorities to rebuild struggling communities and shut our financial divide. We must always create a technological revolution that’s inclusive, sustainable and democratic, funding technological progress whereas defending People from the harms it might convey.

From fixing a pothole on an area avenue nook to revitalizing the American manufacturing business, now we have the potential to channel our indomitable American spirit and wield it in opposition to each impediment we face — as a rustic, united.
