    President Donald Trump needs $500 billion in uncommon earth minerals from Ukraine in trade for persevering with navy help.

    Trump induced a leftist and company media meltdown by including that Ukraine “could also be Russian sometime.”

    “I need to have our cash secured as a result of we’re spending a whole lot of billions of {dollars},” Trump advised Fox Information host Bret Baier. “They might make a deal, they could not make a deal. They might be Russian sometime, or they will not be Russian sometime.”

    As of February 12, the US has given Ukraine $65.9 billion in navy help.

    Trump has stated that Ukraine has “basically agreed” to the deal.

    “We’re going to have all this cash in there, and I say: ‘I would like it again.’ And I advised them that I would like the equal, like $500 billion value of uncommon earth,” Trump stated within the interview. “And so they have basically agreed to do this, so not less than we don’t really feel silly.”

    Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy advised Reuters that he’s open to a useful resource deal.

    “If we’re speaking a couple of deal, then let’s do a deal, we’re just for it,” Zelensky advised Reuters. “We have to cease Putin and defend what now we have — a really wealthy Dnipro area [in] central Ukraine.”

    Andrii Yermak, chief of workers to Zelenskyy, advised the Related Press, “We have an interest to work, to develop, with our companions, to start with, with the US.”

    The Related Press reports:

    Uncommon earth parts are a set of 17 parts which might be important to many sorts of client expertise, together with cellphones, arduous drives and electrical and hybrid autos.

    It’s unclear if Trump is in search of particular parts in Ukraine, which additionally has different minerals to supply.

    “It may be lithium. It may be titanium, uranium, many others,” Yermak stated. “It’s rather a lot.”

    China, Trump’s chief geopolitical adversary, is the world’s largest producer of uncommon earth parts. Each the U.S and Europe have sought to scale back their dependence on Beijing.

    For Ukraine, such a deal would be certain that its largest and most consequential ally doesn’t freeze navy assist. That might be devastating for the nation, which has been at warfare for almost three years after Russia’s full-scale invasion on Feb. 24, 2022.
