As I watch what is occurring with our new administration, I can solely conclude that the parallels with the rise of Nazism are plain. I see this within the energy seize; the disregard for the Structure; the retaliation for disagreement with President Donald Trump; the breaking of legal guidelines, and the pronouncement of latest ones; and the empowerment of allies. This time the scapegoats are immigrants, and, once more, the LBGTQ group.

Whereas we could have puzzled concerning the German inhabitants not talking out in opposition to that regime, it’s a lot simpler to know now as this new actuality unfolds in our personal nation. It may be a way of helplessness, of not realizing what to do, or of feeling we as people is not going to have an impact. We aren’t powerless on this nation.

Let it not be mentioned of us that we did nothing.

    Maureen Mohrbacher, Tacoma
