The Russian Navy’s giant touchdown ship, Admiral Nevelskoy, performed artillery firing drills within the Sea of Japan, Russian information company Interfax reported on Monday (Feb 17), citing the press service of the Pacific Fleet.

“Through the train to check air defence for a single ship, the crew of the big touchdown ship performed artillery firing at a simulated air goal,” Interfax quoted the press service as saying.

The crew additionally fired large-caliber machine weapons at small maneuverable targets simulating unmanned boats of a mock enemy.

The workouts had been carried out as a part of the deliberate fight coaching actions of the Russian Pacific Fleet, the press service added, based on Interfax.
