My take away from the mayor’s race debate:  Neither Harrell or Wilson used the phrase tax, as a substitute saying “progressive income”.   The phrases used embody the time period “ask giant companies to pay…”   when the right wording is “demand to pay”.   Harrell famous nearly all of folks dwelling unhoused in Seattle got here from elsewhere.   Each touted that Seattle must change into a sprawling homeless housing mission, funded by you guessed it “progressive income”.  Wilson claimed with nothing to again it up that she would obtain extraordinary progress in turning Seattle right into a sprawling public housing mission.  Wilson proposed tax-paying for-profit housing house owners ought to have hire will increase capped at 5%, lower than the rise of prices to personal and function rental housing, which aligns with transfering possession to tax dependent non-profits and the “Social Housing Developer”.. No drawback.. Simply maintain elevating the gathering of “Progressive Income”.
