Re: “Socialism offers what’s wrong with capitalism” (Oct. 11, Northwest Voices):

To the letter author: Inform me in regards to the “first rate lives” lived by folks in China or Cuba. It sounds nice to drive the rich to assist “strange” folks, however who’s to dole out the riches? Are they virtuous? Are they fraudsters?

The issue is the individuals who run such an financial system are corruptible. If we should always plunge the financial system into full socialism, how way more corruption will we get?

Face it: Capitalism has already improved the lives of everybody to an extent as soon as thought unimaginable. What do the wealthy do with their wealth? By investing in corporations, they create jobs.

    Martha Parker, Renton
