I’m writing from Friday Harbor to precise concern concerning the lack of reasonably priced housing within the San Juan Islands.

Many native staff — lecturers, nurses, service workers — battle to search out locations to dwell as a result of so many houses at the moment are trip leases. That is hurting our neighborhood. Companies can’t maintain workers, and households are being pushed out. We’d like stronger guidelines for short-term leases and extra reasonably priced housing help earlier than the scenario worsens.

    Harrison Edge, Friday Harbor
