After 38 unforgettable years on ESPN’s “Faculty GameDay” — and over 25 years as a school soccer coach — Lee Corso is about to don the headgear one ultimate time this Saturday on the Horseshoe in Columbus, Ohio.

To generations of followers, Corso wasn’t only a broadcaster and commentator — he was the cause to get up early on fall Saturdays. His legendary headgear picks turned a practice, delivered with dramatic aptitude, one-liners, and unmatched enthusiasm.

Whether or not it was the spontaneous “Oh, f*** it” decide or calling a canine mascot ugly, Corso’s moments made him a weekly spotlight. Followers throughout the nation tuned in not only for evaluation — however for him. From sporting a Trojan’s armor to a TCU Horned Frog head, Corso introduced pleasure, unpredictability, and coronary heart to each present.

“This job is like stealing,” Corso as soon as mentioned. “I journey firstclass in a pleasant airplane. I’ve a driver ready for me. I’m going in a room and have room service. I’ve a gathering. Then I’m going to one of the best recreation of the weekend and speak soccer — and so they pay me.”

That zeal and gratitude have made him beloved not simply by followers, however by all the faculty soccer group and all of us will miss him.
