    American seeds highlight US Open third men’s draw on Saturday

    It is transferring weekend on the US Open, with the third spherical persevering with on Saturday. American seeds Taylor Fritz and Learner Tien, plus two-time NCAA Champion Michael Zheng from Columbia, play on Saturday, looking for spots within the fourth spherical. Fritz and Tien play lower-seeded gamers and Zheng performs unseeded Arthur Gea of France.

    Fritz beat American Wildcard Darwin Blanch 6-3, 6-2, 6-4 within the first spherical and Italian Mattia Bellucci 6-0, 6-1, 6-1 within the second spherical. The IBM Slamtracker provides ninth-seeded Fritz a 54 % likelihood to defeat Twenty fourth-seeded Francisco Cerundolo of Argentina. Cerundolo and Fritz are the primary match at Arthur Ashe Stadium at 11:30 a.m. ET. 

    Cerundolo gained his first-round match 6-4, 6-3, 7-5 over Austrian Filip Misolic and German Jan-Lennard Struff, 5-7, 7-5, 4-6, 6-2, 6-3. Cernundolo and Fritz have cut up their two conferences, with each on clay. Cernundolo gained in 4 units within the 2023 French Open. Fritz gained in three units on the 2024 ATP Masters 1000 in Madrid.

    Fourteenth-seeded Tien performs Seventeenth-seeded Czech Jakub Mensik within the second prime-time match at Louis Armstrong Stadium. Tien beat Nuno Borges of Portugal 6-4, 6-1, 6-2 within the first spherical and Gael Monfils in his ultimate Grand Slam match 6-4, 6-3, 6-4 within the second spherical.
