    HONG KONG: A cargo airplane flying from Dubai skidded off the runway into the ocean whereas touchdown at Hong Kong Worldwide Airport, town’s airport operator stated on Monday (Oct 20), with native media reporting the deaths of two folks.

    The northern runway on the airport is closed after the incident, Hong Kong Worldwide Airport stated, including the south and central runways would proceed to function.

    The accident occurred round 3.50am Hong Kong time on Monday (7.50pm GMT on Sunday), and the airport confirmed the plane was carrying an Emirates flight quantity. Emirates didn’t instantly reply to a Reuters request for remark.

    The 4 crew members on board have been rescued, the worldwide airport stated within the assertion. One floor employees member was rescued as nicely, whereas one other was lacking.

    The South China Morning Put up later reported the deaths of two males aboard a floor car, citing police.

    Flightradar24, a flight-tracking service, stated the plane that went off the runway in Hong Kong was a Boeing 747 freighter, in accordance with a social media put up.

    FlightRadar24 stated on X that the airplane belonged to AirACT, a Turkish airline that gives further cargo capability to main carriers. AirACT didn’t reply instantly to a request for remark outdoors regular enterprise hours.
