It has been an extended week for the MLBPA.

Govt Director Tony Clark resigned amid a scandal, simply months earlier than an anticipated labor dispute largely centered round a possible wage cap in MLB.

Amid that disruption to the MLBPA, the messaging hasn’t modified forward of the looming labor dispute. There is no such thing as a curiosity from the gamers in a wage cap, and so they do not consider it will repair what some see as parity points inside baseball.

Not too long ago, Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Chris Bassitt spoke about the potential for a wage cap. Bassitt is an MLBPA govt subcommittee member.

“The wage cap doesn’t repair something,” Bassitt said. “If you happen to take a look at each main sport with a wage cap, we have now the very best parity. The wage cap will not be the difficulty. Having suppressed salaries throughout the league so house owners earn more money will not be the reply. If I’d let you know in 25 years, the Dodgers can be going to 10 World Collection and profitable seven of them, is that a difficulty? As a result of that’s the Patriots. The Chiefs have been to what, six or seven? The Philadelphia Eagles have been to 4 or 5. The parity in our sport is healthier than another sport.”
