Re: “ ‘Agonizing’: How Alaska’s pivotal Republican senator decided to vote for Donald Trump’s bill” (July 1, Nation):

The servility of Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, and different Republican senators goes past the “my state first” excuse for supporting President Donald Trump’s Huge Stunning “Bull.” Trump has declared and demonstrated he’ll ignore the mandates of laws, break the legislation and violate the Structure by refusing to spend cash appropriated by Congress and even claw again by rescission funds already contracted if he personally dislikes their goal.

Guarantees to Murkowski for Medicaid, like all Trump guarantees, are meaningless. When you promote your soul to the satan, a minimum of it is best to count on one thing in return.

    William R. Phillips, Edmonds
