Re: “We need transparency around Broadway crisis center siting” (Sept. 23, Opinion):

I agree with Bradford Augustine’s op-ed concerning the Broadway disaster heart. I dwell on First Hill, and it’s changing into more difficult by the day to dwell on this neighborhood. Prior to now few years, there have been extra empty storefronts, extra drug paraphernalia, extra folks on the streets affected by dependancy and extreme psychological sickness, extra shootings, and so forth.

There have been efforts to treatment these points within the downtown vacationer district, however First Hill/Capitol Hill are usually not within the metropolis definition of “downtown.”

These of us who dwell right here have been excluded from no matter course of there was regarding the Broadway disaster heart. Our neighborhood is struggling, and even folks like me who’re residing right here to help downtown are being pushed out. I now not really feel protected taking my canines out at evening, and I’ll possible promote at a loss and transfer out if town refuses to work with the neighborhood to enhance security and embody us in choices that immediately influence us.
