    COPENHAGEN: Denmark on Sunday (Jan 4) made its displeasure identified after the spouse of President Donald Trump’s most influential aide posted a social media image of Greenland painted within the colors of the US flag.

    Katie Miller – spouse of Trump’s deputy chief of employees Stephen Miller – put the contentiously altered picture of the Danish autonomous territory on her X feed late on Saturday, after the US military operation against Venezuela.

    Her put up had a single phrase above it: “SOON”.

    Denmark’s ambassador to the US, Jesper Moeller Soerensen, reacted on Sunday together with his personal put up saying “we anticipate full respect for the territorial integrity” of Denmark, above a hyperlink to Katie Miller’s picture.

    Trump has repeatedly made clear that he needs Greenland to become an annexed part of america.

    Strikes edging in the direction of that objective by his authorities – together with his appointment of an envoy to the Danish territory – have drawn the ire of each Copenhagen and the European Union.

    Stephen Miller is broadly seen because the architect of a lot of Trump’s insurance policies, guiding the president on his hardline immigration insurance policies and home agenda.

    America’s European allies have been rattled by Trump sending in his navy on Saturday to assault Caracas and seize Venezuelan president Nicolas Maduro, who’s now being held by US authorities in New York.

    Trump has stated america will now “run” Venezuela indefinitely and faucet its big oil reserves.

    In Greenland’s case, Trump has claimed that making the Danish territory a part of america would serve US nationwide safety pursuits, given its strategic location within the Arctic. Greenland can be wealthy in key essential minerals utilized in high-tech sectors.

    Denmark’s ambassador gave a pointed “pleasant reminder” in response to Katie Miller’s put up that his nation – a NATO member – has “considerably boosted its Arctic safety efforts” and labored along with the US on that.

    “We’re shut allies and will proceed to work collectively as such,” Soerensen wrote.

    Katie Miller was deputy press secretary below Trump on the Division of Homeland Safety throughout his first time period.

    She later labored as communications director for then-vice president Mike Pence and likewise acted as his press secretary.
