    Bangladesh is heading right into a historic election, with the Awami League barred from contesting and its chief, Sheikh Hasina, dwelling in exile after her overthrow in August 2024.

    On this interview, Sreenivasan Jain speaks with Sajeeb Wazed Pleasure — Hasina’s son and a senior Awami League determine — about whether or not the social gathering has confronted public anger over years of repressive rule, and whether or not it sees any political future for itself in Bangladesh.
