Talking to reporters in Kyiv on Thursday, Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated Turkey was engaged on plans for a ceasefire particularly linked to power infrastructure and delivery.

“President Erdogan talked about this to me. I advised him we might help it. He wished to organise a corresponding assembly, initially at group degree, then on the leaders’ degree. I advised him we’re prepared,” he stated.

“Right now, the US believes we’re near an settlement,” he added.

“From what I perceive, the Russians merely advised them that they’d not comply with any (interim) ceasefire until an settlement is signed,” he stated, referring to a full and full peace deal.

Turkey, which has sought to take care of relations with Moscow and Kyiv all through the battle, controls the Bosphorus Strait, a key passage for transporting Ukrainian grain and Russian oil in direction of the Mediterranean.

In November, Erdogan stated a ceasefire deal masking power and port infrastructure constituted a possible foundation for negotiations towards a complete peace settlement, throughout an internet assembly of Ukraine’s allies.
