Passenger ferries weren’t talked about within the editorial. If we actually wish to scale back carbon emissions, and improve reliability, growing passenger ferries is the best way to do it.
Washington State Ferries must shift from transporting automobiles and vehicles to transporting individuals, and this must be coupled with improved public transportation connections at ferry terminals. That is cheaper for taxpayers and is the appropriate course for our state. We have to shift transportation planning to a larger give attention to alternate options to site visitors and lengthy ferry traces.
