Re: “Washington Post owner Jeff Bezos says opinion pages will defend free market and ‘personal liberties’ ” (Feb. 26, Nation):

Amazon peddler Jeff Bezos has now restricted what can go into (his) Washington Publish’s opinion web page. Apparently caving in to President Donald Trump’s want for no criticism, he’s proscribing entries to free markets and private liberties, no matter which may imply.

When Bezos purchased the paper, he was in favor of a free and open opinion web page, however since then he’s caved in to Trump’s threats of lawsuits towards information media that report negatively about him. Or maybe it was his purpose all alongside?

“Democracy Dies in Darkness,” as The Publish’s slogan goes, and it’ll die with Trump’s blessing.

It’s an enormous change from the times of the Pentagon Papers, printed by The Publish. Katharine Graham is popping in her grave.

    Michael Dahlstrom, Everett
