Re: “Seattle’s homelessness response in peril as Trump aims at ‘Housing First’ ” (Nov. 17, Mission Homeless):

The native authorities response to the homeless difficulty has so far resulted in additional homelessness and lots of of thousands and thousands of wasted taxpayer {dollars}. The creator of this text states that having secure housing is vital to discovering employment. Whereas which may be true, being mentally sick or addicted makes the purpose moot.

If the underlying causes of being homeless are usually not addressed, free housing will likely be nothing greater than one other wasteful boondoggle. Please give up making an attempt to make this a housing difficulty when it’s clearly a psychological well being/substance abuse difficulty for the overwhelming majority of those that are homeless. They desperately need assistance, and free housing with out remedy is just not the reply.
