Re: “Seattle’s homelessness response in peril as Trump aims at ‘Housing First’ ” (Nov. 17, Venture Homeless):

Once more completely disregarding evidence-based info, the Trump regime goes in opposition to all that we all know that works for getting so many homeless folks out of despair and right into a future that may work for them: A roof over their head and a spot of their very own. I meet on daily basis as soon as “regular” individuals who, being unhoused, have turned to self medicating to ease their scenario. Medicine? Alcohol? These of us with housing do it continually behind closed doorways.

Just like the Trump regime’s assault on immunization, homeless-repair proof has no weight. Local weather-change tied proof has no weight. Assist for these battling poverty apparently has no weight. Discredited politics run rampant.

These federal cuts for housing are going to make Seattle’s homeless scenario a lot worse.

    Judith Hansen, Seattle
