    COLUMBIA HEIGHTS, Minnesota: US immigration authorities detained no less than 4 kids together with a 5-year-old from a Minneapolis-area college district this month as a part of President Donald Trump’s immigration crackdown, college district and metropolis officers stated on Thursday (Jan 22).

    The Republican administration has deployed about 3,000 officers round Minnesota’s largest metropolis, the place residents have been on edge since an immigration officer shot and killed a US citizen this month. Democrats and native leaders have accused federal brokers of aggressive and pointless ways which have left many immigrant communities afraid.

    The youngster, Liam Conejo Ramos, aged 5, watched as masked brokers took his father from the driveway of their residence after the 2 returned from preschool on Tuesday, in line with Rachel James, a Columbia Heights metropolis council member who noticed a number of autos blocking half the street close to the house.

    The brokers then took the boy, sporting a blue hat and a Spider-Man backpack, and pointed to the again door of the home and motioned for him to knock, she stated.

    “I can not think about what was going by Liam’s thoughts, however I can let you know what I noticed on his face. He was frozen and paralyzed,” James informed Reuters on Thursday. “He was not crying, however he seemed so scared.”
