Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says Israel has rejected United States President Donald Trump’s Board of Peace plan for Gaza, and won’t withdraw forces till the Palestinian group Hamas absolutely disarms.
“Israel rejects the 15-point doc,” Netanyahu stated at a cupboard assembly on Sunday, referring to a plan endorsed final month by the Palestinian group Hamas.
The Israeli military “won’t perform any withdrawal till Hamas is genuinely disarmed and can proceed to thwart threats in opposition to our forces and our residents”, he added.
Israel has continued to hold out near-daily lethal assaults throughout the Gaza Strip since agreeing to a ceasefire with Hamas final October.
Final week, the US-led Board of Peace said that an Israeli withdrawal from Gaza would solely happen after the disarmament of Hamas is full, following a gathering between the physique’s director, Nickolay Mladenov, and Netanyahu.
