    Jamaica has secured as much as $6.7bn in assist from worldwide businesses to fund reconstruction over the subsequent three years within the wake of Hurricane Melissa in October.

    Hurricane Melissa introduced damages equal to 30 % of Jamaica’s gross home product (GDP), in response to the United Nations Improvement Programme (UNDP).

    Melissa was the strongest storm to hit the island nation in more than 170 years.
