    June 2025 shop closures – full list revealed

    Sadly, the development is about to proceed in June, with quite a few companies shutting for good within the coming weeks.

    Listed here are the primary store closures in England, Scotland and Wales this month.

    The low cost excessive road chain plans to shut 9 outlets this month. The next outlets will shut:

    • Milford Haven, Pembrokeshire – June 26
    • Perth – June 28
    • Chester Le Avenue, County Durham – June 28
    • Arbroath, Angus – June 28
    • Kidwelly, Carmarthenshire – June 28
    • Pershore, Worcestershire – June 28
    • Normanton, West Yorkshire – June 28
    • Peterhead, Aberdeenshire – June 28
    • Shaftesbury, Dorset – June 28

    The retailer beforehand mentioned it must shut “loss-making” shops following monetary battle. In February, personal fairness agency Modella Capital purchased The Unique Manufacturing unit Store, launching a restructuring effort to renegotiate lease prices on the 88 shops.

    The discount retailer chain is about to close an outlet this month, with an extra 200 outlets in danger. A store in Surrey Quays is about to shut on June 11.

    Pepco Group, the guardian agency of Poundland, has mentioned it expects to promote the chain by the tip of September. In Might, the Telegraph reported that as much as 200 Poundland shops might face closure as a part of a rescue sale.

    Stephan Borchert, chief govt of Pepco, mentioned: “At Poundland, buying and selling stays difficult, which is mirrored in a revenue outturn under expectations for H1 and a weaker outlook for the total 12 months.”

    Poundland revenues dropped by 6.5 per cent to 985 million euros (£830 million) for the six months to March, in contrast with a 12 months earlier.

    The multinational chain is closing an Inverness store this month. The company has put up signs inside the shop, reading: “We’re sorry this store is closing soon but you can still shop at hollandandbarrett.com.”

    Iceland has not provided a reason for the closure, however, the retailer confirmed that staff affected by the closure will be offered jobs within the business.

    The department store is closing for good this month, following 120 years of sales. The final day of trading will be June 8.

    Until then, the retailer is running a huge clearance sale, with up to 50 per cent cuts on beds, furniture, homeware and clothes.

    The Windsor flagship shop will stay open, as well as its online business.

    Five employees will be impacted by the closure, Daniel of Ealing said.

    The discount retail chain is closing a store on Margate High Street on June 8.

    A spokesperson for The Works said: “As part of ongoing plans to optimise our store portfolio, we will be closing our Margate retailer.

    “We have now liked being a part of the local people and apologise for any inconvenience brought on by this closure.

    “Prospects can proceed to buy with us at our close by shops at Westwood Cross Procuring Centre and Ramsgate Backyard Centre.”
