    Re: “Religious freedom must be maintained during protests” (April 9, Editorials):

    I used to be gobsmacked to be taught {that a} considerate and balanced state Senate invoice designed to permit of us to protest — however not willfully or recklessly intrude with an individual’s entry to a spot of worship — was defeated by a Home committee charged with overseeing, no much less, “neighborhood security”! It handed the Senate and not using a single vote towards it. Anti-Muslim bigotry and antisemitism are rampant, but the necessity for people to peaceably protest is important. This invoice truly addressed each.

    Our state Home was cowardly in not at the least placing Sen. Jesse Salomon’s invoice to a full vote. Nor did they even hassle to draft another. Disgrace on the Home Committee on Neighborhood Security.
