    Headquartered in Syracuse, Metro Mattress had 70 places throughout New York and 4 New England states when it sought Chapter 11 safety in September 2024. On the time, it stated it deliberate to shut roughly two dozen of these shops and refocus its efforts particularly on its New York places.

    Retail closures pile up in 2025

    Metro Mattress joins plenty of well-known retail chains which have ceased operations after searching for chapter manufacturing over the past 18 months.

    The checklist contains a lot bigger operations comparable to Party City, fast-fashion model Forever 21, and the arts-and-crafts retailer Joann fabrics.
