    There was loads of smoke surrounding Michigan Wolverines athletic director Warde Manuel and his job standing.

    Normally, when there’s smoke, there’s fireplace, and that is especailly true in faculty sports activities the place insiders are usually embedded into a university city and the applications they cowl — or on the very least they’ve sources which are.

    That is why ears perked up when local reporter Justin Spiro stated that Manuel will likely be “out’ because the AD at Michigan and that the college was actively working towards his launch.

    On3’s Pete Nakos then followed that up by reporting that the Michigan Board of Regents could be assembly on Thursday to debate, amongst different issues, Warde’s future with the Wolverines.

    Momentum appears to be trending in direction of Manuel getting fired by Michigan after 10 years on the job, however the 58-year-old former soccer participant is disputing that.

    In public feedback launched on Monday, Manuel stated that he is been having conversations with college president Domenico Grasso.

    “The president and I’ve had a number of nice conversations over the previous couple of days,” Manuel stated by way of Ross Dellenger of Yahoo. “There aren’t any plans for me to not proceed to be the athletic director for the close to future.”
