Considerations are rising that the ceasefire between the USA and Iran may not maintain after Washington stated on Sunday (Apr 19) it had seized an Iranian cargo ship that attempted to run its blockade, with Tehran vowing to retaliate.

Efforts to construct a extra lasting peace within the Center East seemed to be on shaky floor, as Iran stated it could not take part in a second round of negotiations that the US had hoped to kick off earlier than the two-week ceasefire expires this week.

“We warn that the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran will quickly reply and retaliate towards this armed piracy by the US army,” a spokesperson stated, prompting a jump in oil prices and a bumpy stock market opening.
