I write to understand The Instances’ editorial “An appreciation: Nancy Nordhoff’s leap of faith is changing the world” (Jan. 20, Opinion).

It captured her deep affinity with the lives and voices of girls, and the land. It missed one inflection. Nancy needed us to listen to from the unheard. Since ladies of colour have been probably the most silenced, she made a concentrated effort to succeed in out to them. Hedgebrook immediately is exclusive amongst writers’ residences in welcoming so many.
