5 gamers have been suspended following the altercation between the Pistons and Timberwolves that passed off in Minnesota on Sunday, the league announced Tuesday in a press launch.

    These suspensions are as follows:

All 5 gamers had been ejected from Sunday’s recreation following an on-court incident that occurred halfway by way of the second quarter.

Holland, who tried to swipe the ball away from Reid as he drove to the basket, was referred to as for a foul and was instantly confronted by the Timberwolves huge man, who yelled on the Pistons ahead and repeatedly jabbed his finger at him. DiVincenzo rapidly entered the combination and he and Holland shoved each other, resulting in a scrum that spilled into the stands alongside the baseline.

As these three gamers fell into the stands, Sasser and Stewart entered the fray and shoved Reid and DiVincenzo, leading to a “continued escalation” of the scenario, per the NBA.

Along with these 5 gamers, the sport’s officers ejected Pistons head coach J.B. Bickerstaff and Timberwolves assistant Pablo Prigioni. Nevertheless, neither coach was talked about in Tuesday’s announcement, so it seems they gained’t face any extra self-discipline from the NBA.

Based on the league, Stewart acquired an additional recreation due partly to his “repeated historical past of unsportsmanlike acts.” He’ll miss Wednesday’s recreation in Oklahoma Metropolis and Friday’s contest in Toronto, whereas his teammates Holland and Sasser will solely have to sit down out on Wednesday. Reid and DiVincenzo will serve their suspensions on Tuesday when the Wolves face the Nuggets in Denver.

As Bobby Marks of ESPN tweets, Stewart’s two-game suspension will price him $206,897, which represents 2/145ths of his $15M wage for 2024/25. Holland ($46,812), Sasser ($15,834), Reid ($80,283), and DiVincenzo ($65,776) will lose 1/174th of their respective salaries for this season.
