    GYEONGJU, South Korea: United States tech big Nvidia mentioned on Friday (Oct 31) it would provide 260,000 of its most cutting-edge chips to South Korea, as CEO Jensen Huang met President Lee Jae Myung and the heads of the nation’s largest firms on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Financial Cooperation (APEC) summit.

    South Korea is dwelling to 2 of the world’s main reminiscence chip makers – Samsung Electronics and SK hynix – which manufacture chips important for synthetic intelligence merchandise and the information centres that the fast-evolving trade depends on.

    Lee has additionally expressed his hope that the nation can change into the world’s third AI energy after the US and China.

    Talking to media after the announcement, Huang mentioned that the purpose was “bold”.

    However, he mentioned, “there is no purpose why Korea can’t obtain it – you will have the know-how, you will have the software program experience, and also you even have a pure skill to construct manufacturing vegetation”.

    Nvidia has been caught in the midst of that geopolitical tussle.

    Its chips are presently not offered in China as a consequence of a mix of Beijing government bans, US nationwide safety considerations and ongoing commerce tensions.
