Qatari Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani has died on the age of 74, the Amiri Diwan has introduced.

“With hearts steadfast in religion in God’s decree and future, the Amiri Diwan mourns the nice loss to the nation of the late – might God have mercy on him – His Highness the Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, who handed away this morning,” the emir’s workplace stated in an announcement on Sunday.

Sheikh Hamad, who dominated Qatar from 1995 to 2013, was a key architect of the energy-rich Gulf state’s fast growth.

Throughout his reign, Qatar underwent important financial, social and cultural modifications that strengthened its standing within the worldwide group.

Sheikh Hamad oversaw main financial investments and solid wide-ranging worldwide partnerships as Qatar turned the world’s largest exporter of liquefied pure fuel.

In 2013, he handed energy to his son, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, who was then 33, in a uncommon abdication by a hereditary Gulf Arab ruler.
