    MOSCOW: Russian President Vladimir Putin stated on Friday (Aug 1) that Moscow hoped for extra peace talks with Ukraine however that the momentum of the struggle was in its favour, signalling no shift in his stance regardless of a looming sanctions deadline from Washington.

    US President Donald Trump has stated he’ll impose new sanctions on Moscow and international locations that purchase its power exports – of which the most important are China and India – until Russia strikes by Aug 8 to finish the three-and-a-half-year struggle.

    He has expressed mounting frustration with Putin, accusing him of “bullshit” and describing Russia’s newest assaults on Ukraine as “disgusting”.
