    Sony stated on Sunday (Feb 9) that every one PlayStation Plus members would mechanically obtain an extra 5 days of service, after a world outage disrupted the PlayStation Community (PSN) for about 18 hours on Friday and Saturday.

    “Community providers have totally recovered from an operational situation. We apologise for the inconvenience and thank the group for his or her endurance,” the Japanese electronics and leisure large stated in a put up on X on Sunday, with out specifying the reason for the outage.

    The outage, which started late Friday, left customers unable to sign up, play on-line video games or entry its on-line retailer. By Saturday night, the corporate stated PSN had been restored.

    The PlayStation Community is a key service for Sony’s gaming division, supporting hundreds of thousands of customers worldwide.

    At its peak, the outage affected about 7,939 customers within the US and round 7,336 customers within the UK on Saturday afternoon, based on Downdetector.com, which tracks outages by collating standing experiences from a number of sources, together with customers.
