    The Houston Texans launched Diontae Johnson on Tuesday afternoon, ending the wide receiver’s stint with the group after solely two video games.

    “With Diontae, sadly it did not work out and we’re on to the Chiefs,” Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans told reporters forward of the group’s AFC divisional-round playoff recreation in opposition to the Kansas Metropolis Chiefs.

    Johnson was reportedly upset within the locker room following the Texans’ 32-12 wild-card victory over the Los Angeles Chargers on Jan. 11, with operating again Joe Mixon and linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair attempting to calm him.

    Within the wild-card recreation, Johnson had one reception for 12 yards. He solely performed 15 of the doable 70 offensive snaps for the Texans.

    Johnson was claimed off waivers by Houston in late December after a brief stint with the Baltimore Ravens, throughout which he refused to enter their recreation in opposition to the Philadelphia Eagles on Dec. 1.

    The Houston Chronicle’s Jonathan M. Alexander wrote Tuesday that Johnson did not “have on-field chemistry with quarterback C.J. Stroud.”
