Re: “A call to my fellow veterans to stand up to Trump deployments” (Sept. 13, Opinion):

The U.S. army personnel being deployed towards their fellow residents face a really troublesome and, for many of them, uncomfortable place.

Op-Ed writer Edward Orton’s name for our veterans to affix forces to peacefully resist President Donald Trump’s use of our army to institute a police state is effectively thought of. The final citizenry is just not outfitted to successfully deal with such hegemony.

On the identical time, we should keep a mindset that the women and men who we might even see deployed on our streets are largely good residents who’ve entered the providers to be able to shield our nation, our folks and our Structure.

It’s crucial that, if such deployments occur in our communities, we allow them to know that we’re not their enemy, we respect their service and that we all know that these deployments aren’t their private alternative.

    Michael Tanksley, Woodinville
