KYIV: Ukraine stated on Tuesday (Mar 4) it could do every little thing it might to carry out within the face of the Russian invasion after Donald Trump determined to halt vital US military support to Kyiv.

The US president suspended army help to Kyiv days after a surprising public conflict with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy within the Oval Workplace.

“We are going to do every little thing to carry out,” Prime Minister Denys Shmygal informed a press convention in Kyiv.

Washington has been Ukraine’s most vital army backer since Russia invaded in February 2022, with Shmygal saying US help within the type of air defence and intelligence exchanges had saved “hundreds, maybe tens of hundreds of Ukrainian lives”.

Ukraine stated it was in talks with Europe on filling the gap and needed to barter with Trump over the arms halt.

“We’re discussing choices with our European companions, and naturally, we aren’t overlooking the opportunity of negotiations with our American counterparts,” Ukrainian presidential adviser Mykhailo Podolyak stated on X.

Shmygal stated: “Ukraine is totally decided to proceed cooperation with the US.”

That features signing an aborted deal to offer the US preferential entry to Ukraine’s minerals and pure sources, he stated.

Zelenskyy, who was but to remark publicly on the halt of help, went to Washington to signal that deal earlier than it was scrapped after his showdown with Trump and Vice President JD Vance.
