    WASHINGTON: The US navy killed 11 folks on Tuesday (Sep 2) in a strike on a vessel from Venezuela allegedly carrying unlawful narcotics, President Donald Trump stated, within the first recognized operation since his administration’s latest deployment of warships to the southern Caribbean.

    Trump informed reporters on the White Home: “We simply, over the previous few minutes, actually shot out a ship, a drug-carrying boat, quite a lot of medication in that boat.”

    He added that the US navy had recognized the crew as members of the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua, which the US designated a terrorist group in February. He repeated allegations that Tren de Aragua is being managed by Venezuela’s President Nicolas Maduro, accusations that Caracas denies.

    The Venezuelan Communications Ministry didn’t instantly reply to a request for remark.

    The Pentagon has not launched specifics concerning the assault, together with what sort of medication had been on board, the amount, or how the strike was carried out.
