    WASHINGTON: The US navy mentioned Tuesday (Jul 28) it had intercepted a number of missiles launched by Iran, ending a days-long respite in assaults between the foes.

    “At 5.45pm ET at the moment, Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps forces launched a number of ballistic missiles from Iran in an tried shock assault on US forces primarily based within the Center East,” Central Command (CENTCOM) wrote on X.

    “All Iranian missiles have been efficiently intercepted,” it added, with out specifying the areas focused by Iran.

    Either side had held hearth over the weekend, following almost two weeks of nightly strikes by america on Iran, and repeated missile and drone salvos by Tehran focusing on Washington’s allies across the Gulf.

    The mid-July flare-up in combating got here after Iran attacked a number of ships within the Strait of Hormuz.

    Oil costs had plummeted following the weekend lull in combating and as US President Donald Trump mentioned there was a “good likelihood” of progress in negotiations to finish the struggle.
