    A senior official with Iran’s Revolutionary Guards has stated the Strait is closed and Iran will fireplace on any ship ​making an attempt to cross, Iranian media reported final week. A number of ships have already been hit.

    The US Navy has held common briefings with transport and oil business counterparts and has stated throughout these briefings it’s unable to offer escorts in the interim, three transport business sources acquainted with the matter stated.

    The sources, who declined to be recognized as a result of sensitivity of the matter, stated the transport business has been making requests virtually each day in the course of the requires naval escorts by way of the strait.

    One of many sources stated the Navy’s evaluation throughout Tuesday’s briefing had not modified and that escorts would solely be doable as soon as the danger of assault was diminished.

    The Pentagon didn’t instantly reply to a request for remark.
