    CARACAS: Washington’s designation of an alleged Venezuelan cartel as a overseas terrorist group (FTO) takes impact on Monday (Nov 23), opening the door to new types of US pressure on President Nicolas Maduro.

    The FTO listing, which incorporates Islamist teams, separatists, guerrillas, and extra lately, gangs and drug organizations from Mexico and Colombia, is overseen by the State Division.

    From Monday, the listing will embrace “Cartel de los Soles” (“Cartel of the Suns”), which Washington claims is run by Maduro. The shadowy group is chargeable for “terrorist violence all through our hemisphere,” Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated.

    The transfer is a part of the Trump administration’s marketing campaign towards medicine and unlawful immigration from Latin America.

    No proof has been made public to assist the accusation of Maduro’s involvement within the group.
