Israel focused Hamas leaders on Tuesday in strikes on the Qatari capital, killing 5 Hamas members and a Qatari safety officer.

The assault drew widespread worldwide condemnation, together with from Gulf monarchies allied with the USA, Israel’s essential backer.

Qatar, which hosts the biggest US base within the area, performs a mediation function within the Gaza warfare alongside the USA and Egypt.

Analysts say the summit is supposed to ship Israel a transparent sign.

The Israeli strikes had been “seen throughout the Gulf as an unprecedented violation of sovereignty and an assault on diplomacy itself”, Andreas Krieg of King’s School London mentioned, including the summit signalled that “such aggression cannot be normalised”.

“The purpose is to attract clear purple strains and finish the sense in Israel that it will possibly act with impunity,” he mentioned. “Anticipate a sharper stance on Palestine and a tougher edge on Israeli actions.”
